Currently I have ...

55 gallon 48x20x12 FOWL
set up for 9 months
33lbs live rock
yellow tang
2 percula fakes
coral branded shrimp
choc. chip starfish
2 turbo's and about a dozen blue leg hermits
heater
Fluval 404
Aqua. Pharm. Ion-exchange resin chamber for the tap water
Seaclone 100 skimmer
24" "Natural Daylight" flourecents (stock with tank)

I'd like to get bulbs to do more. I'm not going coral but i would like to try an anenome for the clowns and make the live rock look more "live". they aren't "dead" but definately don't look as nice as when i bought them. What are 50/50 bulbs and what should I look to get for the tank?

20 gallon 24x16x12
8 bucktooth tetras (waiting for them all to die)
Penguin 280 biowheel
heater
regular flourecents
(have an undergravel filter for it but not using it)

Once the bucktooth's die off, with current hardware would it be good to do a few crabs/snails and 2 damsels or 2 clowns? something small like that. My only concern is I wouldn't have a protein skimmer for it. I do not want to go coral quite yet. Should I use the undergravel filter for a plenum?

I'll move this to the marine hardware section, you'll get more specialist advice there.

You wil find you need more intensive lighting for the anemone than you do for the corals. Do yourself a favour and save money by not getting an anemone and getting a sarcophyton instead. clowns will easily accept this as a host and the coral is far easier to keep, the lights required are far lower and the coral wont move all over the tank trying to sting all in its path

Here is a piccy of my maroon clown in a Sarcophyton.

And my Perculas in the same coral.

I have pictures at home of my tank and will post them later tonight.

Typically what is required to grow Coraline and/or a Sarcophyton? I know that calcium is used to feed corals. But what lighting/chemicals would I need to impliment?
