I hope someone here can help...

I have a Rena 350 Aquarium which is heavily planted. I wanted to replace the supplied T8's so I bought a couple of Juwel Hi-Lite T5's (giving 4 x 54W). I had to saw the ends off to make them fit the tank!!!

Anyway, I've now had 3 of these units fail and I'm not prepared to buy another. Surely there's a better, more reliable solution.

I've had a look at various different units but I really want to know if anyone else here has found a decent solution that would fit my tank. Unfortunately, these tanks are no longer manufactured so I cannot simply go to my LFS for them to demonstrate.

I've heard that the OT2 fits perfectly but, if I'm honest, I'd rather have an 'under-the-hood' solution (the missus thinks that a liminaire would light up the whole room).

Does anyone know if the Razor's will fit?

I've also seen the new TMC GroBeam units. Does anyone know how many of the GroBeam 1000 HD's I'd need in to sufficiently light my tank, giving the equivalent 208W+? The tank dimensions are 120l x 50d x 70h.

Finally, are there any other solutions for tropical lighting that might fit?

Thanks in advance for any replies.
