Lighting Advice Please

Hi..

Just a quicky..

48x18x15

are these lights enough. 1X 40w Power Glo Fluorescent Bulb 107cm (42") 1 X FF38 Arcadia 38W 42in no relectors on them... im looking for a double i can simply add into my tank, only seen singles so far

I've got a similar tank that's 48x20x14. If you plan to have a heavily planted tank then you must have 2+ watts per US gallon (WPG). Yours is a 55G so with a total of 78 watts you've got 1.4WPG. It's hard to achieve 2+WPG using regular T8 lighting so I suggest you look for either power compacts or T5. I previously had 2 reflectors (1x40W and 2x30W) and it crowded the top of my tank...better to get one PC/T5 instead.
