for my 60litre tank i have the light that came with it, a 18", 15w t8 tube, im undecided whether to either:
a) leave it as it is
b) replace current tube for T6 high output
c) leave current as it is and set up a new light tube beside it.

the plants i want to grow are java fern, marsilea, moss, crypts, and anubias

i think i will be fine with option B, as long as i get some ferts, what do you rekon?

I think you'll be fine with the tube you have for the plants mentioned,I have basically the same set up,a two foot tank (roughly 60l) with one 18" 15w tube.
I replaced my tube when I got the tank (2nd hand) just to be on the safe side, but I have all the plants you mentioned, bar the marsilea,in that tank.I have marsilea in my bigger tank, and the watts per gallon isn't much more, plants all growing well.

ok thanks, i will get a t6 tube just to be on the safe side... hows your masilea doing, i have brought histua, (or something like that), can you give me tips on how to make it into a carpet mate?

Yep,it's hirsuta I've got.Tbh,I just leave it to do it's own thing,it's pretty slow growing and kinda creeps aloong in the one direction sending out runners.
Co2 may make a difference to growth (I don't run co2),but the way it grows in mine, not sure if it's suitable for a carpet.
