I have a flourecent light in my 23g tank and im wondering is it ok do leave it on permenantly or do i have to turn it off at night, there is a decent amont of plant cover at the top and at the back of the tank the light isnt strong

i've been turning it off at night but im just wondering if its ok to leave it on

I would suggest that it is best to emulate the fishes natural habitat...ie. night (dark) day (light). Most people I think have a timer and set it to their choice. (plug in ones only cost a few £'s these days) I allow approx 8-10 hours of light on. I believe you can even simulate moonlight!
This is only my opinion and are not based on expertise :good:

Yes I agree with everyone here. I think there should be a dark period during this period most of the fish rest while others become more active. I think you said you have angels, well turn the light off at night and get up before sunrise and switch it on and I'll bet you will find your angels near or on the bottom leaning up against something sleeping.
