Does anyone know where a good site is for info comparing the light output (lumens) and frequencies
of different lights such as fluorescences, vho fluorescences, metal halide, etc....?

Seasons Greetings!

hmmmmm that would be a pretty neat site ! i think its better to look around for the bulbs you can buy and research on them :D IMHO normal household bulbs (osram, philips, toshiba etc ) as long as they are daylight (6500kelvin) would perform almost the same :D its those specialty bulbs that need comparing

Normal household bulbs are tungsten which run at around 3000k (warm & orangy) however you can get craft bulbs that would be ideal as these run @ 6500k.

Unfortunately heat is a big issue with tungsten/halogen/halide etc!!
