Life And Death In The Cichlid Tank.. And A Pic.

So I was doing my morning onceover of the tank, and noticed a dead yellow lab. No idea why, most likley just wasn't up to the chaos of the tank and his tankmates.

On the lighter side Apperently at some point my auratus (Melanochromis auratus) have spawned, and at least one has survived the 300 gallon tank. getting a pic was hard with my outdated camera.. but I finally got one.

Not sure I could catch him if I wanted... so we shall see what happens..

A baby Aratus Cichlid. It is far back inbetween the 2 rocks. It is yellow, with black and white stripes.

Awesome! Too bad about the lab, though. Those are really nice fish.

Sorry about your loss, and congrats on the baby cichlid.
Really depends on if you want him to live then catch him, but if your not fussed let him/her take the nature course, if strong enough will survive if not will be eaten.

I sorta know how you feel. About a year ago i lost my yellow lab to bloat. Good luck wqith the new baby cichlid.
