fish only tend to jump when there stressed so you should add some stress coat stuff in if there still doing that it was probably you changing the water that they got stressed

I did that after the water change it just seemed weired as i have had the fish years i have fish jump for moths near the tube, i had to empty so much of he water to stop injury :S

do you keep a number of male bristlenoses together as it's possible they are fighting for territory if you haven't got a massive tank. Some may be jumping to get away from the others. Just a thought. I only have the one breeding pair and loads of babies and i haven't seen mine jump.

P.S on a side note, which fish shops would you recommend in Sheffield (are you on the wakefield side or further away)

I have a number of bristles and have raised a couple hundred of them. I have never ever had one jump or even try to jump. They will swim up the output of power filters is about it.

I would bet dollars to donuts there is a problem with your water parameters- none of which you have listed. I have learned from experience that when the info given about them is "they are all fine" in fact they are not.

The next place to look for the cause would be in regards to other tank inhabitants- another thing you provided no info on.
