I introduced a leather coral last week and it came out for 2 days then decided to sulk, its worrying me now as it hasnt come out for 4 or 5 days. I thought it was just going to shed and some of it has but still no sign of it coming out! I introduced a lovely green mushy and its doing really well and looks great. Whats up? All tests fine!

In my experience, leathers do wonderfully well when placed in areas that get a really good amount of flow. Try moving him around.

Mine routinely closed up for up to a week sometimes. So long as it doesn't start to disintergrate, then you should be absolutely fine by next week.

Lathers are like naughty school boys, they sulk for ages but then come out as if nothing ever happened! Just leave him along and he will come out - if you keep moving him he will keep sulking  just ensure he is in a nice flow and he will be fine

As you can see, Seffie's been at the Christmas brandy again. :p

Still sulking at this point! He is attached to a very large fan sponge (which came with him) any ideas if this is causing him a problem? Its now bigger than he is! I didnt intend on having one and dont know to much about them.

Have you got a photo

What is that growing underneath it? Is it disintegrating (it doesn't look like it) or shreading?
Is it in good flow? Is it close enough to anything which may stinging it? Does it have burn like wounds or holes?

As far as i can tell there is nothing but LR underneath it, it did shead as far as i know (first time i have seen one do it being a noob). The flow is good and there is nothing that could sting it in my tank as far as i know. The tips seem to be disintegrating a little but today is the first sign of that but not convinced yet. Everything else seems to be ok with it :look:

Oh and the thing on the side of it is the fan sponge so ive been told.

How long has it been sulking for now? Also, there seems to be something growing under the toadstool that the toadstool is pulling away from?

It is not uncommon for a toadstool to sulk for over a week

Sulking for around 2 weeks give or take. It is the fan sponge it does appear to be trying to get away from. :/ Would pulling them apart be a goo idea? If so how do i go about it? Thanks.

Are you able to take it out of the water and just take a hammer and chisel to the rock?
