So my current 37 gallon was doing just dandy and ended its cycle fine a few weeks ago. I only had 6 tetra in at the time so I added 2 rubberlip plecos and 2 very very tiny <1inch upside down cats. Unfortunately due to some very hot days here after adding them the temp fluctuated a bit and the fish got stressed and got ich. One cat died, the other is on its way I think but the pleco's are getting over the ich and the tetras have no spots at all. I've been treating with Maracide at 85degrees and will do one more 5 day treatment to see if it will help cure the plecos.

ANYWAY, I will always use a hospital tank from now on but really don't have much room. I would like to know if a 5 gallon tank would be OK for 1-2 inches of fish for 2 weeks of quarantine when I do decide to add more fish.

Thanks!

I can't see to much of a problem with that sized tank, the fish are only going to be in there for a couple of weeks. I've got a 6 gallon clearseal tank that I use for quarantine, never had issues, and it saves on meds only sing a small amount.
