can you fix a leaky tank? if so what do you use to fix

i have a unused 10g or 5g sitting in my shed and the only thing thats stopping me from using it is it has a leak that i need to find out where its located at

From what I know, you need to strip all the silicone and rerun the beads yourself, basically making it all over again. Definitely not worth it for a little 5 or 10 gallon imo. You could get those tank sizes at petsmart for less than 30 dollars.

idk if im for sure on fixing it or not i was just wondering i think my brother is eventually using it for some thing else like a snake or some thing

You would be best on stripping all the old sealer and re doing the seal if its leaking. I do tend to agree with onidrase though.... for a tank that small, vs the cost of what even the cheaper GEI cost.... time, ect... getting a new 10 gallon tank ...just the plain tank with nothing else... would be more of a better option. That should only cost 15 at most for just the plain tank.

its almost $30 dollars for just a plain tank the hood doesnt even come with it where i live at so getting every thing for it would cost as much as a 30g with every thing that comes with it (because i really dont have spare filters or heaters for it), like i said im not gonna go out and go do this tomorrow i saw it and questions just popped in my head
