i have a Tetratec EX700 external filter (a german made Fluval looking filter)
that started leaking really badly a while ago, so i had to remove it.
ive just set up a nice 4ft tank thats ready for the fish i have held by the LFS.

the tap unit was completely broken, and leaking, so yesterday i managed to track down the very hard to get replacement taps,
fitted them in, set the filter up and turned it on, and it still leaks!!!
my dad said it might be because the tubes are dry inside, so he put some Eheim vasaline in them, and they stayed perfect all night long,
until i come down thismorning to find that slowly, i mean half a drop per hour or whatever, it is still leaking!

i was hoping to get the fish today or tomorrow, so i really would apreciate some help!

if it is leaking from the taps you can either put some metal hose clamps (available from any hardware or auto shop) around the pipes, or just remove the taps completely.
If it is leaking around the case then it is probably the O-ring and that could need replacing or even just put some vasolene on it and see if that helps.
