I recently created a post regarding my eheim 2075 leaking.

This is the original post : Leaking Eheim

I came to the conclusion that the sealing ring needed replacing as it was 18 months old. I ordered a new sealing ring and replaced it but 3 days after setting it up again its still leaking.

Even with the new sealing ring it doesnt seem to be creating a watertight seal. Water is leaking past the seal and into the 4 corner struts of the housing, it is then dripping out of screwholes at the bottom of the struts.

I cant understand why its still doing this even with a brand new seal. I could use a bit of vaseline but it wouldnt be a permanent fix and i'd be wondering everyday if I was going to come home from work to water all over the floor like I have tonight.

Any help or suggestions would be great, especially if anyone has a 2075 or any of the other pro 3 models as they will have a better idea what I mean

I'd just use some vaseline, takes the seal out and coat it in vasline then put it back on, when putting the top on make sure you push down evenly on the top, then fasten the catches.

I don't have an Eheim but have a Fluval and I've found that pushing the top down evenly is the most important bit. The vaseline not only helps to seal but also lubricates the seal so that it doesn't twist when you put the top on.

Have a look inside the o ring groove to see if there is any debris build up! If so then gently scrape it off put the vaseline on the o ring and fit it!
