Mother in law kindly wanted to buy me a fish on her recent visit, and typically the LFS was full of tangs and coral eaters only!! under the pressure of choosing I plumped for a jewelled blenny - not realising they're veggies!! Could anyone tell me what they like to eat. I don't have any algae in the tank at the moment, so put some nori in, but he was totally uninterested. Obviously need to order something in - but what?

thanks

I had a similar problem my blenny ran out of hair algae and died but idk if it will work but you can try feeding frozen algae my tangs love it.

Also number 1 rule is dont buy a fish without research.

mmmm, I was hoping for more of a 'they love money algae' type of response..... ~Oh dear :unsure: I will try frozen algae and a bit of lollo rosso and see what happens. If not, i think I'll see if I can take him back to the LFS, I think he'd be happier in another tank. Thanks for your advice.

Get a veggie clip and throw in nori, lettuce, broccoli...see which one he likes best. Ive seen them eat lettuce but I bet he'd love some nori.

Nope nori, lettuce, spinach - nothing is temping this little fella - however he does eat the algal build up on the glass so he's not sick. Seems quite happy in himself, perhaps he's just watching his figure. Will keep a close eye - will try the flake though - it can't hurt. Thanks.

Nori = Dried seaweed.

Flake may work...also pellets could as well. Try dropping some sinking pellets near him and wait a bit to see if he start chomping them. I have some pellets for tangs/foxfaces and other veggie lovers, maybe look for something like that.
