Our black currants are infested with fly larvae. Can we feed them to the fish? We don't use pesticides or harmful sprays, au naturale. If I give them a good wash, will they be safe?

Even if you haven't used pesticides/harmful sprays, there could be something in the black currants from the environment that could potentially harm your fish. I cannot tell you if your fish will be safe or not as I do not know what is in the overall environment of the plants and larvae in your area. I don't see anything wrong with trying it out, but be very cautious! Good luck :good:!

I usually dip the heads of my roses in a jug of tank water in summer and collect the greenfly then I pour it back into the tank, my hatchets love them. I also collect midge larvae from tubs in the garden, So I don't see why not in your case give it a go with a few first and wait a couple of days and monitor any ill effects.
