What of the larger gouramis will get along peacefully with moonlight gouramis in a 75 gallon.

What sex is it and what other fish are in the tank?

Generaly speaking, other moonlights, pearls, three-spots, banded, thick-lipped and kissers are some commonly available gouramies that COULD work. It depends on what else is in the tank and the sex of the moonlight so I can't be more specific unless you answer that question. :)

Also, gouramies vary greatly in character and are very individual fish. If you can provide some background on this one - it's size, how long you've had it, how long it's been in the tank, where it has set up a territory (if any), how it is with its tankmates, past experiences with mixing it with other gouramies etc - would help greatly.

I don't have any yet, just turning a few ideas over in my head for my 75 gallon.

Well, in that case, I'd suggest going for a trio of moonlight gouramies and 4 female three-spots (choose from any of the color morphs - opaline, gold, lavender, platinum, blue etc and in any combination) OR a single male three-spot (if you want mroe room for other fish and 3 female moonlights. Here are some pics of various three-spot colors: http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Gouramis,%...ichogasters.htm

Obviously the end descision is up to you so take a look around and see what other gouramies you like then ask if you're not sure about compatibility. It helps to know what other fish may be going in with them as well.

Thanks Sylvia. I haven't made any firm decisions, but I was thinking some larger gouramis (platinum, pearl, perhaps opaline) just to add some color. I might be adding some of the smaller species of peaceful eartheaters from south america, but only the ones that stay on the small side. Never having kept larger gouramis together (aside from gold, blue, & platinum) I wasn't sure how the others might react to the moonlights. I think the tank may end up centering itself around gouramis.
