Large Bamboo Fern Added.....

Big Mick, that is argueably (sp) the best goldfish tank I have seen set-up in a long time. It's gorgeous! Great job.

The wood doesn't affect the pH too much? Just curious.

Thankyou very much, my wife thinks its hers but really....its mine heh heh heh.

The wood doesnt affect the water stats atall, I tend to soak mine first to avoid the water changing colour but not always, sometimes its nice to have it looking like tea.

Beautiful tank Big Mick!! :D Love the looks of it and your fish are gorgeous too! :)

Now if you would only come over to my house and do some aquascaping for me.....

Well if you want to pay for me to come to Florida then I will heh heh heh.
As long as you pop the kettle on for me getting so I can have a nice cup of tea and wee jammy dodger.

Lets see....airfare to Florida, you and your wife could stay with us, (we have an extra room, we're close to the beach too) in exchange for awesome aquascaping. Sounds like a fair deal to me! ;)

You want a pot of tea no problem but what the heck is a "wee jammy dodger"???

Well Im working on a patent that might just save you the air fare......cant say anything about it till ve got the patent and copyright it but keep an eye on the shop section of my website over the next few months.

Oh and a jammy dodger is a busicuit, infact its an insult to refer to it as "Just a buscuit".....its like the discus of buscuits.

Ahhh.....it's a cookie! Not a brand that I've ever seen around here though....

To say its just a cookie is like saying that lassie is "just a dog"......its the heavywieght champ of buscuits and they're great for dunking in your tea, they dont fall apart or anything.

I got some 30" high flexable bamboo fern type fake plants and decided to try one out in Judes coldwater tank and i like it.....

Here is the tank before...

I wasnt happy with the far right hand side, especially as you could see the blue airline, I added the large fern to hide that but it goes up and along the surface of the water and it dapples the light....

I even tried a couple in my tropical.....one either side gives a kind of forrest effect as the curl in from either side......I feel some aquascaping coming on...

All comments welcome.

Nice ID Shark in the tank. How big is it? I bought two couple of days ago and want them to grow to the size you have in your tank. I was wondering what can I feed them to get them to grow faster? Thanks.

That's one of the nicest tanks I've ever seen. Everything goes so beautifully.

WOW that tank looks amazing

It looks very nice.

I see you got sand at the bottom of the tank. How do you clean the bottom of the tank? I mean do you use syphon to vacuum the waste at the bottom? I am buying a new tank and thinking of adding sand instead of gravel. So, which sand do you recommend? Also, I was told that sand cannot be used with undergravel filter, so I don't know how I will vacuum the sand since I will get sucked up.

I am just starting a new 44G tank and looking for advice.

Thank you for your time.

p.s. I am attaching i picture of the tank I am buying.

U can use normal playsand that u can get in garden centers
