labyrinth fish

As often happens with scientific names, they're probably both correct and no one can agree on the spelling
Personally, I've seen anabantoid used more often than anabantid.

Edit: Forgot to add, for what it's worth, the actual name of the family is Anabantidae.

The suborder is called Anabantoidei and it includes the families Luciocephalidae (pikeheads), Anabantidae (climbing gouramis), Helostomatidae (kissing gouramis), Belontiidae (gouramis and bettas) and Osphronemidae (the giant or Osphronemus gourami). This is taken from Baensch's Aquarium Atlas 1. I'm no expert on things like these, but I'd guess that anabantoids would be all fish in the suborder and the anabantids would be the family of climbing gouramis.

However, there's been some suggestions about changing the families in Anabantoidei lately, but I don't know the details of that.
