Any thoughts on what this is, and how to treat? Eating well, behaviour fine... just a really bad spot...

Wowww... looks like a tumor or a cyst. I would QT and put him on a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics such as Maracyn and Maracyn 2.

Issolate and try a bacterial med.
If it'a a tumour there noting much you can do.
