My female krib has made a pile of sand in the entrance to one of the coconut shells.

I assume this may mean eggs!? Have not had them long but would imagine that the half shells are good for breeding.
 
Sounds quite likely to me. I hope you have a suitably big footprint tank (at least 90x30cm, ideally longer) if the Kribs are in a community, especially with other fish that use the lower levels.

Tank is 60cm long, only other bottom dwellers 3 sterbai cory, but lots of plants so plenty of hiding places.  It seems very peaceful, which makes me wonder if they have not started breeding yet.
