I absolutelty LOVE kribs. I really want to keep a pair, or even a single one would be fine for me. I have decided against an angelfish. But I still want a bit larger fish for my 40 gallon breeder. So I was thinking about a Fetivum aka Flag Cichlid. Will Kribs be compatible with a Flag Cichlid?

So far this is my stocking

5 Zebra Loaches OR 8 sterbai cory
5 Zebra Danios
1 Festivum

Would a single krib, or a pair of kribs be compatible?

They are both from different continents, but have similiar water requirments, and aggression shouldn't be a problem either.

You most likely will have a problem. Pelvicachromis pulcher are territorial bottom dwellers. So, when say, a loach or a cory cat comes swimming by, what do you think will happen? They will be attacked and chased. I've seen it happen before in my own tank. The only succseful bottom dweller type cleaning fish that can stand up to them in my opinnion, are Bristlenose Pleco's. They (assuming they are dwarfs) max. out at 5 inches, and look pretty darn cool. I have 3 (1m/2f) in a 30g tank with a breeding pair of P. pulcher and they get along fine. The danio's will most likely be killed. At one point and time, I possesed a pair of albino P. pulcher and they had no problems with the danio's in a 20g tank, for several months. Then one day, the male thought they should go. He personally caught and killed 4 of the 5 long-finned danio's in about 3 days.

are you sure Festivum will be ok with the danios i dont know nothink about them but just googled it and it says they get 15-20cm 0im sure somethink that big would eat a danion
i would go for somethink more like

5 Zebra Loaches OR 8 sterbai cory
pair of apisto or keyholes or rams or acara
a bn or banjo or whiptail
8 Zebra Danios
a pair of anglefish or gourami

The Festivum does get over 6" and the danios could fit in its mouth. But I personally wouldn't worry too much, I would be more concerned with fish like neons and cardinals. But if you want an absolute chance of no fish going missing I would go with Rams or Apistos.
The only time I have had any aggression problems with Kribs is while they are breeding. But as mentioned before there will be a bit more aggression shown towards the bottom dwellers, but I have never had my kribs kill any fish. But there are numerous different experiences so really there's no such thing as impossible.

Ugh. I wish kribs weren't so darn agressive! Would a lone krib work out? And I am thinking about changing the bottom dweller because of agression.

In my experience with Kribs is that they are territorial like most cichlids and can be aggressive towards other fish. But the only problems I have had with Krib aggression is towards other cichlids. In most of my breeding tanks I have cories for clean up and in two cases the cories bred in my Convict breeding tank and my Green Terror breeding tank.
If you are interested in Kribs I would go with 5-6 for your tank or at least a trio.

Meh. I would like to have a larger cichlid, and then a pair of dwarf cichlids. I think I might stick with Bolivian Rams. Even though I would love kribs. Maybe I will set up a breeding tank later. Thanks for your guys' input, though!

Except for the fact that they don't breed in trio's. They pair for life. Not to say that the odd trio case doesn;t happen. I've had a breeding trio of agnelfish before. Doesn't mean they do that normally. If you want them, get 1m/1f and they usually hit it off, as long as the male is bigger than the female. If not, he may end being bullied.

I did not notice the festivum in your stocking. I would not put it in with the dnaio's. The will be lunch.

I didn't mean for breeding purposes, I just meant 3 would be fine for that tank. Even 3 males or females. Though when I did breed kribs in the past I had one male and three females, but I just removed the other two females after they paired up.
The Rams are a good choice though.
