? Kribs

I have 2 kribs breeding pair and the male has bitten of the females fins and the fry have been starting to die .. do u no y this happend

im gonna get 1 more female krib and i got 1 in a the tank so im wondering will he mate with them both

I don't think you should put a second female in the tank. Kribs pair off to breed and you already have a pair. The female may kill the 2nd female. Sometimes the female gets so protective of her fry that she will kill the male. They can be very aggressive towards each other to the point of killing each other. Ooops starting to repeat myself now.

Lol i just said they aint got any fry left and the female is half dead :S

Male Kribs will defend the nest from anyone and everything, ive never had my male and femlae fight once they spawned. The only time ive had a bit of bother was when i stupidly tried to reseat a rock which i thought was going to fall.....5mins later no fry :/

stupid me!!!!

yh me to but my female looks so bad i think she just might get to tonight before she dies

Like many aggressive and semi-aggressive fish--even serpae Tetra or Betta (off subject  )--I imagine that different families can have differences in personality. What will work with one fish may not work with another in the same species. In those cases when warnings are given, I think it is best to watch the tank closely and carefully.

If your female is hurt and sick, she needs to be moved to a hospital tank and treated after an accurate diagnosis. The male, I would suggest also needs to be separated from any other fish. Certainly a tank in distress is not a time to add more fish, imo.

For help with your female and the fry you might visit the emergency board. Good luck with your couple and fry. (Not that there aren't people here that could give a good diagnosis; it is just often faster over there.)

Thanks every1 but ive just lost my female and all the fry so im going to start freshly today thanks for all advice.
