Hi I have a pair of kribs and due to unsuccesful last lot of fry have one baby(sex unknown). I am pretty sure they can only be kept in pairs but is it possible to keep them in trios or singularly.

I don't think I will have them much longer due to problems but at the minute I have stocking problem

Thanks for the help.

Pairs are ideal but single Kribs are also fine and are generally less aggressive. I would not reccommend a trio, 2 will pair up and the 3rd Krib would be seen as a threat.

are you concerned about your pair and then the baby? i'd be concerned about the pair eating him more so than viewing him as a competitor. from what i recall, the fry don't really color-up until several months of age. since that will be about the same time it enters the sub-adult stage, that will be when you need to worry about fighting. until then, the baby will probably just be chased around a little bit.

At the minute the baby is in a seperate tank from the parents. Thanks for all the help I kind of figured that was the case. Still need to find them all a new home though.

kribs can be kept alone to they dont need to be in a pair i have one krib in my community but i will admit there colours come out more in pairs more than a pair is a big no no
