Hi

Would 1 pair of Kribs and 1 pair of Bolivian Rams be ok together in a 180 litre community tank with plenty of plants, cave structures, hiding places etc?

As long as you provide plenty of hiding places, as it seems you already have, than I really don't see a problem as to why it would not work?

Someone with a little more knowledge with these types of fish will give you some more solid info!

I'm in the same boat right now. I have a pair of Klugei and a pair of German Blue Rams in my 55 Gallon. So far I haven't run into any major aggression issues, however I haven't had them together that long. I read a lot about this and found most people advised against it due to the aggression during spawning. However, that being said, in my case the Klugei will spawn in a cave and the GBRs will over a flat surface (i.e. rock), so at least they shouldn't have to fight over WHERE to spawn. I'm assuming there could be problems though if they choose the same area of the tank. Unfortunately I don't have much to offer other than that, but if you do go with both pairs just keep in the back of your mind if the aggression issues get out of hand, you may have to re-home a pair. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys :good:

Just bumping this back to page 1 guys to see if any more views before I make the purchase(s) which is likely to be in the next few days unless someone with personal experience/expert knowledge tells me its a really bad idea

Thanks

Just to say, Ruby, I don't have any more info than the above but we'd sure appreciate your eventual feedback report here in the beginner section so we can all keep learning from each other. Sure sounds like some beautiful fish.

Just wanted to reply back to this as my Rams have spawned a couple times now. There definitely was some bickering between the two, however no damage was done and they have seemed to work out their territories. Ultimately, the Kribs own the tank and I think the Rams know that.

Thanks Waterdrop & Mancin

Given your experiences Mancin and the large % of advice I've read/heard I think I will go ahead and let you know my own experiences.

A couple of people/sources have said I may have problems but the majority view seems to be that I should be ok with both a pair of Bolivians and Kribs :good:

There's always the chance it won't work, but there's also a chance that it will. ;) It was worth a shot for me. Good luck! I look forward to seeing some pics!

Ive had my kribs with my rams for about 2 weeks now. Theres the occasional scuffel for territory, but most o hte time they dont mind eachother, sometimse they even play togetr

But i guess always be ready for the agression so you can sstop it early :)

Good luck!

Indir

Thank you

I hope it works.

I'd certainly find it impossible to chose which fish to go for If i had to just chose one pair over the other
