I was thinking of buying some kribinsis fish seem to be very interesting fish. But when i looked are the ones at Pet At Home, they where all gray not as colourful as the images of them on google Are they only colouful when they are breeding?

They are colorful when they are HAPPY. They are not happy at your lfs. What size tank are you planning on putting them in, and is it cycled?

agreed, Kribs are at their most colourful when happy. Also females have a brighter pink on their bellies than males. Remember they are a cilchlid so need some space and hiding space to call their own. They can be great in a community tank though - I'm putting in a pair when I get my new tank - together with some various barbs, danios, larger tetras, dwarf cats and a few gourami.

Where abouts do you live? I wouldn't buy from Pets at Home if you can avoid it

i have fry, they grow quick,i thought i had a mail and femail, wrong, they do look identical till you see a true mail, anyway i went to p@h got a mail, they are stunning little fish,he goes to see his fry over one end of the tank then he goes to see the other femail at the other end,she lives in a cocanut, shell, and i think they are breeding now,,i cant upload photos at the moment, but will post one or two of them,i love them,,nothing go near the fry,,mam n dad are hard as nails, all the other fish keep clear, they only protecting there fry, otherwise they dont bother anything, hope, you get a good pair of these stunning little fish
