Kribensis

Hey everyone, noticed the other day that a friend of mine is keeping 3 kribensis fish in his coldwater tank?? I may be wrong in saying this but I have always thought they needed to be kept in heated tanks??... I even have 2 (did have 4 but took 2 back) in my heated tank.

Yes, they are tropical fish. Your friend is keeping them in an inappropriate environment which will affect their health and lifespan. Fish are poikilotherms, so the temperature of the water will affect their metabolism.

Yeah i thought they were tropical. I didnt want to say anything to him but i think now iv had a 2nd opinion that maybe i should tell him.

Yes, do tell him they are tropical. Either he will need to convert to tropical or take them back.
