Okay, so I am aquascaping my 20 gallon after moving the inhabitants to other tanks. I know that I definately want a shoal of around ten Cardinals in there, but could never decide what else to stock it with apart from a few Mollies.

So I have decided to finally get a pair of Kribs for the 20 gallon instead of the 10 gallon, but my question is would this stocking be okay?

10 Cardinals
2 Kribs

The tank will be planted with a large peice of bogwood running the whole length of the tank forming a cave as well as a plant pot.

That will work fine, kribs rom my experience krib are only aggresive when you keep more then one pair!
Plus if the krib do become agressive the cardinals are much faster so will be able to get any.

Will look nice tho!

Those tetras wont have a chance. Onc the breeding begins, you will most likely find daed tetra's. Unless they are lemons or something a little bit bigger.

Wow, really? i didn't know that would happen... looks like i'm back to plan a then - putting the kribs in the ten gallon

I would be almost better putting the cardinals in the 10g, as a pair of kribs can spawn in one, but they usually kill thier fry a week or 2 after birth from lack of space. I would say the 20g is a WAY better choice, but whatever floats your boat.

hmm... okay. i've kinda decided not to keep the kribensis altogether because i'd rather put more fish than just a pair in the 20g and keeping them in my 10g doesn't seem fair. maybe another time. :) thanks for the help

I had a pair of Kribs and just kept breeding and breeding till I had over a hundred fry that I had to sell! But they were nasty buggers, bullied my 6 inch angel fish till he realised he was better off hiding! They had to go....
