Today after several attempts, I finally had free swimming kribensis fry. Since last time none of them survived as they are in a community tank, I decided to move them to an empty tank. I counted 25 fry. Now when I finally got the mother and put her in with her fry, she started eating them! One of the fry swam to up basically saying hi mum! and chump! gone was the fry. She was in there for about 5 minutes, and I don't know how many she was able to get hold of.

Anyway, now the fry are on their own. Anything you can recommend me to do? Will they survive on their own? I will be giving them finely crushed spirulina and BBS. Further there should be a lot of infusoria in the tank because of the plants and the moss.

Well, the mother turned out to have another 10 fry, but today they are all gone just like last time. I am not sure whether the parents eat them, or the other fish in my tank, or they simply die.

I have found only 2 of the 25 I transferred, and they are not staying together. I will see how things go over the next days.
