i was watching my kribs looking after their fry, and i noticed the fry going up to the parents and trying to eat something? i was just wondering if the parents secrete something in their mucus layer or something?

and btw i was really surprised that the fry made it this far because it is the first time that they have attempted spawning

As far as I know Kribs don't secrete food for their fry. Cichlids are very messy eaters though, they could be eating little particles of food spit out by the parents?

they will eat left over food on the bottom, alge or anything which they think is worth eating.

yeah maybe its just food stuck to the parents, it doesn't really matter anyway as long as they are healthy.
