:sorry:

so i've got a pair of kribs i introduced to my tank a couple of days ago and they've been running around in breeding colors ever since. the female's had her ovipositor out for several days, so i'm just waiting to see what happens.

anyways, three questions:
(1) on a scale from 1 to 10, what are the odds that my albino common pleco will sneak into my half pot and scarf up all the eggs one night? (10 being definitely)

(2) is there a good way to move the eggs once they are laid or will that kill the embryos?

(3) would this be a better thing to serve as a cave? is there a better place to buy these on-line? (price isn't a bother, i just want a reputable dealer.)

i've already resigned myself to not getting any fry out of this first attempt. :/ oh well.

thanks in advance for any input!

my kribs are on their 5th attempt to raise fry but the male tries to eat them and then they become fish food if i dont save any. i have three from the first spawn that i saved but i cant get rid of them, so im happy to let the other fish eat them. they do make good parents though and will keep everything out the way of the cave.
the plec shouldnt be a problem as my two can safely see off a 5 inch plec with no problems and they havent lost a clutch yet to him. so from my experience on a scale of 1 to 10 its 1.
if you want to raise the babies seperately then wait until the parents have had them out free swimming for a few days or until the numbers start to drop. what size tank do you have for rearing them in? make sure as well that you have somewhere for them to go when they have grown.
i think the cave is a brilliant idea and will be used. mine lay eggs anywhere they can, mostly under the plants.
what are the other tank mates?
as ive said i managed to get some fry from the first spawn so just be on the lookout for babies about 10 days or so after she has laid eggs.
