I've got a great pair of Kribensis (Pelvicachromis pulcher) who had about 40 fry about 5 weeks ago. About 20 have survived and are now at a good size and moving independant from their parents (though they still share a cave with mum ) .

2 questions:

1) How long before the breeding pair will lay eggs again?

2) How long before the fry get to a reasonable size to rehome?

Many thanks.

How big are the fry? If you move the fry to a sperate tank, the parents will lay eggs again. Also, if you feeed the fry BBS ( Baby Brine Shrimp, which is better if you get it frozen), they will grow twice as fast.

I'd say about 1.2cm. I'll look at moving them in to my spare 30G.

Thanks.

My kribs spawn on average every 3 to 4 weeks, usually end up with a group of about 40.
