Krib With Swollen Face

Usually its best to treat whitespot another week once spots have gone.
Run some black carbon and water change.
Run the black carbon for a day then add the bacterial med.
Parasites can cause bacterial infections.

I'll run carbon on the other tank tomorrow and then a course of anti internal bacteria. will keep an eye out for the return of the whitespot, though all other fish seem to have been free of it for a few days now. Thanks for the help, wilder - I was getting so worried about my little krib. At least i am doing the best i can for her now, fingers crossed she pulls through :)

Ok good luck as I know what its like to have a sick fish you really care about.

thank you :) My krib is called princess cos she acts like she is one, lol. i need her back in her usual tank bossing the others around! They won't know what to do with themselves without her there :p

If she had whitespot bad they could of caused the inflamation like us when we get bite by insects.

well, she is still with us this morning, but looking slightly worse :( She is staying pretty still at the bottom of the q tank. I'll just have to let the meds do their best now.

Meds can take a while to work so give them chance.
Did you add the bacterial med if so which one.

I just got home half an hour ago. Princess has gone :( Poor little darling. but she was in such a bad way when i left earlier, darting round the tank as if she were lost. I almost put her to sleep but decided to make my decision in the morning - looks like she couldn't take amy more. i raised her from birth too :( Such a shame - out of 90 odd fry, this is the only one that has died in my care :(
I treated her with Interpet anti internal bacteria last night, and had some mature filter sponge which i added to my spare filter for her. Too little too late by the looks of things, I only wish this infection had shown itself earlier.

Sorry bless her R.I.P.
You tryed your best.
