My krib has white spot which is lingering. All the other fish in the tank now seem unaffected by it. I noticed today that whilst a lot of the sopts have gone, her face has some growths on it, making it swollen. These look like her actual face is swollen rather than anything growing in it. The 'skin' on her face looks rather pinkish and her body has lost a lot of colour. She is not flicking or rubbing for the white spot, and she is not gasping for air. however, she is hovering near the bottom of the tank in a quie corner most of the time. She is still eating. Any ideas what this could be? Do I take her out and put her in another tank to treat for another ilness - I don't know what to do as she is still infected with whitespot, and I out the second dose of treatment (Interpet) in on Sunday, so I was preparing to do a water change and add another course.
Here are some crap pictures, my camera is broken so I had to use my phone.

Thanks for any help!

Anyone? I am really worried about her, she is now hovering near the surface though I haven't seen her gasping for air. One side of her face is normal, the other has a swelling in front of the gill area and one on the lip. She looks awful, i feel so bad for her and if there is anything I can do to help her I will. Please, does ANYONE have any idea what this might be?

Has she been bullied by any of her tank mates? Do you think it may be likely that she's been in a scrap and been nipped?

I would personally isolate her and add treatment.

Does it look like there is an open wound or is it just an inflamation?

If it's open, I would suggest Melafix. Otherwise, it could be a bacterial infection, in which case there are many treatments on the market.

I'm sure Wilder would be better to give a proper diagnosis as I have a lot less experience than he does and he has offered me lots of sound advice.

She hasn't been bullied, she is queen of the tank! No open wounds, just what look a little like blisters, as if they would have liquid in them if popped. And her colouring isn't right. I am notnsure about taking her out as she still has white spot and the tank is being trated for white spot... Wilder??? HELP!

And, smegforbrains, Wilder is a lady... lol

She needs issolating in a seperate tank as if the blisters burst they can infect the tank.
The only thing is that while you are treating for whitespot not meant to mix meds.
There is a whitespot med called esha which you can use esha 2000 which is a bacterial med. Both products can be used together.

what is wrong with her Wilder?? I've moved her to the little quarantine tank, but I have looked at the esha meds online and I have never seen these before. Now, the whitespot seems to have cleared up a lot today - should I just dose her with anti bacterial for now, raise the temp in the q tank, and add a little salt?

Blisters can be bacterial to parasites.
I would add the bacterial med.
Get you some info.

thanks wilder, I'll add the bacterial med now. i hope she is OK, she is the krib fry i chose to keep out of 90 odd that were raised. She is special to me :) Is she likely to pull through with the meds, or should I prepare for the worst?

Are the blisters on top of the skin or bemeath.

What colour are the blisters any redness to them.

Ok.
You have issolated her so I would try the bacterial med if they look like there filled with fluid.
Only used esha 2000 a few times and not sure on how good it was as it never cured my fish.
There also anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Do you think the whitespot has caused the blisters.

I'm using the Inperpet anti internal bacteria med. Fingers crossed. i only noticed the blisters today after checking out how the white spot was, having been checking all fish several times a day. She was really heavily infested with white spot but it has calmed down now and the blisters have formed - I think it is likely they are related.

The rest of the tank are spot free - should I use carbon to remove the whote spot meds and treat with the anti internal bateria as a precaution???
