About a week ago my male krib was beating the crap out of the female. I thought that she had laid eggs but I was not sure. She did not seem to be spending much time in the breeding cave. Anyway the male was relentless. He followed her and sought her out even when she hid out of his sight. So I managed to net her (Actually she just kind of drifted while I scooped her up). She was moved to my spare 10 gallon tank. I was going to try to reintroduce her in a week or two. In the mean time last night I noticed that the male was protecting 7 babies. He is a single parent. Is it weird that the male acted like this? I always though the female would drive the male away??

I have noticed in the past that the male has chased the female, but I never saw any fry. When she was chased and beaten she would respond by doing the "wiggle" dance and curling her body. The last succeful batch of fry was 5-6 months ago. Is it trouble with my male or female?
