KNo3 (potassium nitrate)

please note I do not wish to build a bomb i only want to rasie the nitrate level in ones tank.

I understand it is not sold in the uk due to (IRA) making bombs from it

Can anyone suggest a product or supplier, aviiable in the UK?

100 grams mixed with 500ml water. 1 ml solution raises NO3 by 1 mg/l in a 30 US Gallon. I add 5 ml per week to keep NO3 @ 5 mg/l.

I got some KNO3 the other day, and use 100 grams per 500 ml. I add 2ml of that solution with my weekly water change, which gets my nitrates from undetectable to 5-10 mgl/l.

If you are talking to me, why would KNO3 not supply potassium?

It does supply K, but just at a very high ratio.

K : NO3

13.5 : 46.2

Don't know exactly the amount of K to NO3 that's optimal but I guess that it's more than that, hence dosage of KSO4. -- But being the newb that I am I don't really dose the sulfate that much... or the phosphate yet for that matter. Just KNO3 and micros and somehow the plants are OK and growing.
