Kissing Gouramis

Bought two kissing gouramis the other day
Just wondering how often do they kiss, mine stay at seperate ends of the tank

These gouramis don't kiss just for the fun of it. Males kiss as a way of fighting for dominance or over territory, ie aggression. It is not known if kissing is a part of courtship ritual between males and females.

Look at it this way, if your gouramis are not kissing, then they are not fighting.


Can I ask, what size tank are they in? these fish grow very large for gouramis (20 to 25 cm/8 to 10 inches) and need a tank at least 150cm (60 inches) long.

48x24x18 tank mate
There about 5-7cm at the minute
I don't know if they both males/females or one of each

They quite peaceful, don't bother guppies, mollies, neons and even a few guppy fry swimming about

They been sometimes just staying still on the bottom on the tank too
