my 2 golden opaline gouramis are doing exactly the same thing! i asked the same question and got one reply - adding more females to the tank. you see, at the moment i have 1 male and 1 female, and the male is chasing the female around and bumping into her ect. at first i though this was some kind of mating thing but now i think he is just picking on her - do you know what genders your fish are?

kissing gourami will chase each other and the kissing of one another isnt a sign of love but a dispute more often than not
they usually dont harm each other but make sure you have a few hiding places so that they arnt in sight of one another all the time and things should be fine as long as you have the tank space
:good:
