Can someone tell me if Kings British mini pellets are ok for feeding Betta. they are small ( 1-2mm square) and seem the right size for small fish. He has eaten one so I assume he like them, but as they are the same size as his eye I thoiught they would be perfect....what are your opinons plz x

Sizewise, they sounds good, but it depends what's in them. Hikari betta bio gold come well recommended.

it says its a complete food with protein + veg sources , fish and fish derivatives, cereals, vitamins and minerals
proteins 47%
oils and fats 6.3%
#fibre1.5%
ash 8%
rest make up trace elements

does that sound ok

I feed those exact pellets to Bronson, he adores them ( as do the fish in the 30 gallon ) . That and a mix of crushed flake and live bloodworm once a week. He's happy as a mad sandbag on the stuff.

None of the fish stores here sell betta specific foods anyway so I feed what's available with good results.

Oh thank heaven I found someone who buys them, phew! thanks for telling me...can you feed them to other fish too? i know I'm dull
I'm new thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it..plus garlic juice soaks for dry food/.....whats that all about..wind up or truth?

I looked for garlic juice....and there wasnt any, so I'm thinking its a wind up?

and how many mini pellets in one feed and how many feeds a day? sorry as I siad I'm duh...i tend to overfeed and with bettas having constipation problems I need to get it right thanks

Yes those are for all tropical fish, You don't need to buy garlic juice, you can scrape it from the clove with a knife. Just keep scraping it into a little pot and cover it with clingfilm. Or crush the clove to press out the juice. You prbably can buy it though, if large supermarkets don't sel it, asian/indian shops may well have it .

I only feed Bronson a couple of pellets in the morning and a tiny pinch of flake in the evening. Then nothing the next day. I feed every other day to make sure they really are hungry and keep waste low. I give him 3-4 live bloodworm once a week too. He likes the excitement of murder :p

If you choose to feed every day, do one pellet in the morning and one later in the day/evening so he doesn't gulp them all down at once and bloat himself.

ok, what about other fish...i have platies too, in another tank, one pellet each for them too, once a day? can't guarettee that the hungry ones won't pinch someone elses dinner

Just drop a pinch of pellets in the main tank . Thats what I do and they all go. I drop a pinch of mini pellets, a few bottomfeeder ones for the cories, and a little flake as my gourami prefers it to pellets. I do that every other day on my tank, but of course what you feed and how much to put in depends on what you have in your tank. A pinch of pellets should be enough for the platies once a day
