yes you need a dechlorinator there are lots on the market to choose from but basically it gets rid of chlorine and chloromine and most get rid of heavy metals to

i use aqua plus by nutrafin and im sure that many people use different ones and hopefully someone will come tell us both which is the cheapest! lol
