well I dont know about any kids fitting in a 10 gallon tank, but I do know a few kinds of cichlids that could.
I would stay awa from the NW cichlids, though rams and the lot of the dwarfs CAN live in a 10 gallon, they really dont do well in one, so a 20 is better for them.
But my favorite kind of cichlids, the neolamprologus multifacitus can live in a 10 gallon. It is a lake tanganyikan cichlidfs, meaning it is african, and needs a high PH, shells, as they are shell dwellers and a nice sandy bottem. they are not that commen though, and do cost alot, so you may not be able to find them.
But they would need a normal filter, a heater, keep the temp in the 78 range, a PH of 8 plus, so cichlid sand or aroginte, I think that is how it is spelled, would be needed. They keep the PH up there, and somne whale eye shells, or turbo shells, Though the escargo shells are the best bet, I have never seen them, but have herd that you can buy them in the international food section at a grocery store.
EDIT_I didnt even see this was in the african section, I thought it was the new world section.
