Kez's First Cycle Log

That's good news! When I add 3ppm of ammonia in the morning in 24 hours there is 1.5 ammonia left and 0 nitrites! We still are kind of in the same place. ;)

Well, I have reached DOUBLE ZEROES!!! Wooo, on the final stage now. Might have been a bit ambitious by redosing to 4ppm but I am going to wake up tomorrow at around 7 and test the water and see if any of it has been processed. If they are double zeroes again then I will begin my full 12 hour week test.

Wish me luck!

Hey same with me! I added another 3ppm of ammonia to see if it was a one time thing this morning. Tomorrow if I get double zeros I'm off to the petstore on Monday! Good luck with your cycle! :D

Haha that is so weird we have both been mirroring each others cycle! Good to get advice and tips from each other though. What type of fishies are you going for? And congratulations on your doube zeroes, it was such a good feeling, just hope it will be the same tomorrow. If not another week won't kill me :)

Yeah, it is weird that our cycles where almost close to each other in steps. I think I'm going to stock my tank with 5 Flame Tetras, 2 Mystery Snails, and 1 Ghost Shrimp. I don't think I'll be getting the platy though. How about you?

Well my friend is looking after my fish whilst I cycle the tank and so I will have Neon tetras, Harlqeuins, Mollies and corys :)

Just done my first 12 hour test and maybe got a bit over excited by dosing 4ppm :fun: will check in another 12 hours and see how it gets on!

What I try to do is dose .50 of Ammonia up at one time. ;)

Good luck! I think it gives the bacteria enough time to adapt instead of adding 4ppm. ;)

That's so true. ;)

By bio-filter doubled. It can now handle 3.25ppm of ammonia in 12 hours and it can also handle 6.50ppm in 24 hours! I'm testing it tomorrow and I'm going to also add fish tomorrow!

Thats so good congratulations!!! Really happy for you, these are my readings for today.

15/08 - 19:00 - Day 15 : Ammonia: 0.0 , Nitrites: .25 , Nitrates: 160 , Temp: 30C , PH: 7.2 - Redosed Ammonia to 2.5ppm

Looks like your tank is coming together nicely. I just added my fish to the tank 5 minutes ago! I'm waiting for them not to be stressed to turn on the tank light. When I do I'll also take lots of pictures!

OMG bet it is such a good feeling, really happy for you ^_^ Can't wait for that day!!!

Thanks for your support! I can't wait for you to get fish in your tank so I can see how it looks! ;)
