What are some compatible fish the these cichlids will leave alone? i really like the blood fin tetras but i dont think they would last with these guys. but can you think of any other small maybe even group of small-ish schooling fish?

Have you got a couple of caves in your tank, for these guys to hang out in. They like to have there own space. Depending on the size of your tank try Congo tetras or a Rasbora of some type. Anything that swims in the top part of the tank.

Keyholes are one of the least aggressive cichlids there is. They are great for community tanks and are happy in groups.

Of course, there is no guarentee to this, but 99% of the time they will be the model citizen! Bloodfins should be fine. :good:

are all tetras the same? i had two tetras.. a blood fin and a gold-ish looking one that i wasnt sure what it was.. the cichlids double teamed the gold one and ate its eye out. the blood fin on the other hand is doing just fine.. and they seem to leave him alone.. i would like to get more blood fins they are very nice.

I've got a pair of Keyholes in a tank with two Aequidens Metae, half a dozen Cherry Barbs & a few Brochis Sp. The Male Keyhole is the dominant fish, even though the Acara are bigger than him. They don't bother any of the fish though, just chase (just gill flaring really) off the Metae during feeding & from their favourite rock. Never bother any other fish. Great fish, often ignored as they are "drab", but mine can change their shades when annoyed, or excited & always out & about.

Not all tetras are the same. They range from neons to piranhas to African tiger fish. What size aquarium do you have? Adding at least 5 or more bloodfins would make the one you have a bit happier.
