Hi, I have a female Kenyi cichlid that has eggs in her mouth, i have another kenyi cichlid in the aquarium that i thought was a female but according to everyone else its a male. everywhere ive read says that males are yellow and females are blue, yet i've watched the yellow one lay eggs and keep them in her mouth but they never hatched. But ive had great luck with my red zebra cichlids breeding. I was wondering if it was possible for them to possibly change sexes? Or is it possible for the male red zebra to fertilize the kenyi's eggs?

Ive also read that the females will also change from blue to yellow if she feels she has to be more agressive to protect herself or her territory which makes since seeing that she was the first kenyi I put in the aquarium with along with a male red zebra and male bumblebee and a female red zebra. she was blue and after being chased around she turned yellow. so scratch the changing sexes part. I've also recently put in 2 yellow labs and another kenyi cichlid, is it possible for the red zebra or bumblebee to fertilize her eggs? or even one of the yellow labs?

I have heard of red zebras and electrics crossing so I am sure your Kenyi could have bred with a different male
