My water is quite basic and usually comes out of the tap at around 7.5 or higher. I've used chemicals to keep it down around 6.5 to 7.0 to try and make my Jack more comfy, but I was just wondering if there was a better way then chemicals to make the water softer and preferably if it won't cost an arm and a leg. :D \

Thanks! :good:

It would be fine at 7.5 :S though if you want to get it down that much, bogwood, peat and CO2 are natural methods.

RO water is the best way, if you need soft water an RO unit is worthy investment. It's the easiest and most predictable method IMHO.
