 Hi All,

Please somebody help me, my swordtail has given birth, I was lucky enough to catch 14 frey, I have them in a seperate tank, and they seem to be doing well, my problem is that the food seems to be going "fluffy" at the bottom of the tank (if you know what I mean), I'm to scared to clean the tank so that leave me with a uhm well a dunno situation.

On the same well almost same subject, how long does it take for a guppy to give birth and how do you know when she will "pop".

Thanks guys.

hi congrats on the fry :good:

the most inportant thing is to keep the fry tank clean its a bit of a pain but its worth it for the survival of ure fry with regular water changes of about 20% to start with daily then up to 50% in a couple of weeks

i used to use a net to take out uneaten food then i could see the fry so i could do a vac but always put a net over the bucket incase i sucked up any fry by acident but as they get bigger they will learn to get out the way

guppies give birth roughly every 28 days or so
bit hard to tell when they will pop its best to keep an eye on the date when it gives birth then roughly 28 days later ull have an idear

hope this helps and good luck with the fry
