will soon be changing my tank to a geo tank (geophagus ) , black sand , rock background , some maponi roots , few picies of inresting rock , slate ? , and after scouring the internet and you tube for ideas i came accros a tank that ahd a few of these KATAPANG dried leaves scatterrd around and wow it looked amazing , so any body got any ideas or info on avaialability in the uk ??http/www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYV9NM_40DY&feature=related

The leaves in the video look more like oak leaves. Katapang leaves are more commonly known as and sold as Indian almond leaves (IAL), which can be bought in eBay, etc.

Whichever ones you use, keep in mind that they will release tannins and if you go collecting your own leaves, it's probably best to not collect them near roads or polluted areas

Cheers kitty , think I will Order from from e bay !! Gonna be a while yet , got a bit of rearranging to yet , changing substrate etc !! Think gonna go with the moon sand , I want a real dark black !

I use Indian Almond leaves in my Shrimp tank and my Community tank.
Looks nice,reduces the Ph and adds Tanins to the water.
My shrimp eat the leaves.
Have a box full of them.
