Understand - they are indeed more expensive. I actually got mine on eBay. So if you're willing to just hang on a few weeks and scout around, I'm sure you'll find something. I got my 100US gallon Rena practically brand new (was only used for 3 months). Everything included + some extras (sand, decor etc.) for £250

My Juwel served me well for many years so can't knock it too much. Apart from the filter that I never liked and the light unit that broke (a common problem) and had to pay £50 to replace.

I have two juwel tanks, or the skeletons of what used to be juwel tanks anyway and after the second one i swore i would never buy a package deal tank ever again, the actual tanks themselves are fine but everything else about them was substandard cheap crap.

But then we wanted a nice looking tank for the front room in our new house and the mrs refused to let me build a stand for it (i cant think why ) and insisted we bought something that was built to at least look like a piece of furniture, we couldnt afford a bespoke wooden stand and hood so we went with one of the Renas and i must admit i am very very happy with it. Well worth spending a bit extra on for a far far superior and better looking bit of kit.

I am pushing it already with spending money on this tank. I am getting it for £270 (a good price I think!), and the Rena tanks are much more expensive than that. There is no way he will allow me to spend that much!

£270 - does that include the stand too? If so, big result bet you're very excited and can't wait till the weekend

Gotta agree that apart from the tank and stand the juwell range is pretty poor but lets face it, you get what you pay for

And for what you pay you get enough
