Hi All.
This is my first post that i have made on your great forums that has become a great source of information since i joined a few day ago. So here is my question. I have a 5ft Juwel tank , the previous owner replaced the broken tank braces by putting two strips of 6mm glass along the front and back glass with one strip 4cmm wide across the middle , which seems to work very well. My problem with the above set up is the middle strip is stuck below the two front and back strips which shows through the water surface when the tank is full. i dont want to strip the tank down to correct this and was wondering if i could bond a new strip of glass of the same size as the original brace above the front and back strips and then when the silicone has cured in about a week remove the original lower brace that sits in the water when tank is full any thoughts on this would help.

Many thanks

Rog

i cant really say if it will work or not without seeing a picture, but i WILL say any tank modifications such as this MUST be made with the tank completely empty so there is no pressure on the glass, and the glass straight,

if you put a brace in right now with water in the tank, when you go to empty the tank that brace will be TOO LONG and it will be pinched between the front and rear panels,

the only way to do it is to completely empty the tank
