Can Discus be kept in a Juwel Rio 240 (121 x 41 x 55 cm)?
I've seen a post more or less the same as what I'm asking but I would like a modern answer.

I haven't got it yet, just doing the planning. :D

I'm planning on using a TetraTec EX1200 (for 200L - 500L) and removing the built in internal filter. Instead of using the EX700 (100L - 250L).

I was also thinking this for a stocking list:

5-6 Discus (Added last to the tank, all in one go)
16 Cardinal or Glowlight Tetra or a mix
2 Electric Blue Rams (Since I already have them)
Maybe 2 small angels if it's true they are compatible with discus
5-6 Sterbas Corydoras

If that is overstocked, would getting rid of the angels or rams be fine?

The tank will be planted. Not sure about substrate. Either black gravel or that really white sand.
My immediate thoughts on sand and gravel is that sand cant really be syphoned properly because sand gets sucked up but looks much nicer IMO but gravel looks nice (but not as nice) but can be syphoned properly.

Thanks for you time :D

I would say this is the bare minimum but do able, i would drop the angels though,

Ideally I would look for the Rio 300 which i have, just that bit extra in height which wouldnt go amiss with discus

Also sand can be siphoned with no problems at all - just hover above the sand about an inch with the hose part, not the big vacuum bit - and in general stays much cleaner than gravel, which looks clean but is normally pretty filthy

Thanks for the advice. I'll look for the 300. :)
