Can't wait, i have been after a large tank for ages now.

I have a Rio180 - the lights failed after 3 months and I went back to where I purchased it thinking it was simply the tubes and had a bit of a moan (like you do). They immediately said that it was most probably the whole lighting unit that had gone. They told me to bring it in the next day and in the meantime they would get another one from their suppliers. No quibble, no fuss, and they were true to their word.

5 months on and all is ok (fingers crossed and touching wood etc.).

Apart from that hiccup, I am very pleased with the tank ;)

We're thinking of upgrading our tank someitme in the next few months. At the moment we have a Juwel Rekord 70 and were thinking of getting a Rio 180 or 240 (or possibly a Vision 180). Juwel seem to be the most reasonably priced - the Rena ones look nice but are alot more expensive. Are there any other brands that people can recommend?

Clear-seal are good and very cheap. (4' 2' 2') £54 for the tank on its own so you just get the rest of the gear and it will some up to about £100-£150.
Good luck.

No issues with my Juwel Rio 125 in 4 years, except the heater drifting out of calibration. Good tanks IME.

There is a 50/50 side to this topic and dont know which side to stick with?
The posotive side or the negative side? :S

My dad is better than you at being mr sods law!
Lol My sisters roof leaked so we had to get the floor boards up in my room and it appears on pipe was burst when it was put in and it was sunday.;
Then the boiler broke so we had no hot water for a week. The only day the men who where fiting a new one was the day i had to got to hospital in Manchester (check-up). Then the other day our front left car tyre poped.
Now diet, what where you saying???
LOL :hooray: :kana: :hey: :rofl: Good luck with..................................................

I have three Juwel tanks and never had a problem, heaters I expect will fail as most brands do, I change the bulbs every year and replace with whatever my lfs has cheep, some people moan about the filter, but this can be upgraded by changing the pump unit, I change the pump rubber every year as it does wear but at 2.50 so what.

Others moan about the filter size, again it depends on what you want, I like the fact that my filter and heater are hidden.

I also like the fact I only need to keep one of each filter as a spare for all my tanks and in an emergency I can swap parts around.

For the white filter I buy 100 at a time off eBay for less than ten pounds.

If you want to pick exact lights, heater and filter price up the parts and compare to the complete kit from Juwel.
